HOW TO GO FROM PKVs to KVs

Workshop #2: Developing and Using the KV Agreement

To officially invite a Potential Key Volunteer to join in the mission, you need to have a simple, motivational, clear and transferable way to share your vision and challenge them to a specific Biblically-based commitment.  You will use this challenge to communicate your own commitment as a coach to them.

A good KV Agreement will have:

• A strong Biblical perspective and call.

• A clear explanation of the commitment we are asking them to make.

• A clear explanation of what we are committing to do for them as a coach.

Take a look at the following examples of KV Agreements. Feel free to use or adapt these, or come up with your own.  If you want to write your own KV Agreement, you can use the following guidelines to help you:  Guide to Writing Your KV Agreement

Here are 2 examples of KV Agreements:      KV Agreement #1               KV Agreement #2

Assignment:  Look through the sample KV agreements and answer the following questions:

God is already working, preparing hearts and raising up volunteers.  Be looking for those who obviously are being moved by God to be a part of building a spiritual movement.  Sometimes this will involve a process of interacting with them over a period of several months.  It would be great to give students exposure to a conference, training or to another movement.  Give them clear challenges and then focus on those who are willing to act on what they have received.

  1. Clarify your commitment to them and their commitment to you and to the ministry as you walk them through the KV Agreement.  Give them time to pray and consider, but ask for a solid and clear commitment (yes or no) for a specified period of time.
  2. Establish how you will coach them and schedule it.  (When/where/how/how often.)

Having established a KV agreement, next you’ll learn what you can do to develop that person while you’re in the beginning phase of movement launching.
