DEVELOPING KEY VOLUNTEERS INTO LEADERS
Workshop #5: Resources and Tools to Develop Key Volunteers
Overview of Coaching Tools
Whether face to face or digitally, there are several great tools that you can use to help you as you train and coach Key Volunteers to grow into multiplying disciples. Below is a short list of some tools you could use. We will talk about each in more detail in later parts of the training.
Read through the list to become familiar with some of the coaching tools used in Catalytic.
- The Essential Path is a tool that the coach uses to help the Key Volunteer determine and later evaluate their next steps in building a local movement.
- Creating a Movement Training Plan that flows from the Essential Path will help ensure that the Key Volunteer has the skills and tools they need in order to build a movement.
- The Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a tool you could use as you coach your Key Volunteers in their personal development
- A tool we call the Three-thirds Process is a training process for Key Volunteers to use for facilitating development of new leaders within a group-training context.
So far, we’ve focused on how to develop and equip KVs from a distance. In the next section, you’ll consider how we develop movements at the same time as we develop KVs.
