COACHING TEAMS TO LAUNCH MULTIPLE MOVEMENTS
Workshop #1: Antioch Case Study – Movements Launching New Movements
Let’s take some time to look at what the movement in Antioch did to launch new movements across Asia Minor.
Assignment: Read Acts 11:19-30 and 13:1-3
It is interesting to note that while these things were happening in Antioch, the Apostles were still in Jerusalem. Upon hearing about the events in Antioch, they sent Barnabas to see the things God was doing, but they themselves remained in Jerusalem. The importance of what God did in Antioch should not be underestimated. Using our terminology, a whole new target area/demographic was penetrated and a movement was launched that reached far beyond the traditional confines of Judaism! From the movement in Antioch, other movements were multiplied across Asia Minor. As leaders were fasting and praying, the Holy Spirit set aside Paul and Barnabas for the purpose of launching multiple movements in multiple cities.
The next workshop will explore the need to find simple and transferable tools to help students share the gospel naturally and see disciples raised up.
