Workshop #5: Explore and Network for New Movements: Plan a Trip to Go!

Plan a trip to go, explore, and discover the movement God is preparing in the new location.

• Set up as many appointments or large-group meetings with potential volunteers and partners as you can before you go.  Make phone calls, send emails, message on Facebook, etc. as needed to set up meetings with the Potential Key Volunteers who have been referred to you.
• In new cities, look for a place to stay with potential partners/volunteers when possible.  This can be a great way to get to know them and involve them in the mission.  (Remember how Lydia begged Paul and Silas to stay with her!)
• In addition to meeting with the potential contacts you may have surfaced, make a simple plan of how and what you will do when you go.  Here are a few evangelistic initiatives that have led to new movement launches:
  1. Prayer walk, decode a new university and share the gospel as you go.
  2. Cast vision for the Great Commission using the KV Challenge
  3. Internet advertising and the use of www.everystudent.com
  4. Surveys in new cities
  5. Outreaches at universities in new cities done by students and staff from neighboring cities
  6. Small teams going and doing intensive evangelism for a few days on a neighboring  university
