COACHING TEAMS TO LAUNCH MULTIPLE MOVEMENTS
Workshop #3: Foundations for Movements that Multiply Leaders
The key to self-sustaining and reproducing movements is having chains of spiritual multiplication that go to 4 generations and beyond. Over time, these kinds of movements produce movements which build confident and competent leaders who pass on the DNA of Win-Build-Send from generation to generation. The multiplying leaders who are developed within these movements more naturally launch new movements within their existing target area. They also tend to have a vision for launching movements at other universities.
The challenge we often face is seeing rapid spiritual multiplication to the 4th generation. Because of this challenge, we must cultivate a multi-generational discipleship mindset.
Assignment: Answer the following questions:
We must coach our KV teams to intentionally create a culture of multiplication and focus on building an environment for Christians to grow into leaders who multiply. We want to encourage an environment where students are called to count the cost to sacrificially give away their lives for God’s kingdom. While the building of a movement cannot be manufactured or controlled, a culture of expectant faith can be nurtured, as well as a heart-felt desire to multiply into the lives of others.
There is a “gravitational pull” away from multiplication toward being content with the “status quo” or simple “spiritual addition.” This pull toward what is easy and comfortable can distract KV teams from pursuing their vision.
Seeing four generations of spiritual multiplication, although important for movement growth and sustainability, can seem sometimes like a dream. The next workshop will aid you in seeing multiplication happen.
