COACHING TEAMS TO LAUNCH MULTIPLE MOVEMENTS

Workshop #6: How to Coach a Key Volunteer to be a Coach for New Movement Launchers and Leaders

Let’s start by hearing from Nadya about how God worked through her KV team as they went to another city in Russia to launch a student movement there.

As the number of new movements launched rapidly grows, the reality is that there will never be enough staff to coach every KV team across the scope. But God provides additional resources (coaches) from within the harvest!  As movements launch new movements, those KV teams become the coaches of the new movements.

  • Learn how to coach KV coaches.
    • This may seem pretty basic, but the primary way to train Key Volunteers to become KV coaches is modeling what you do as a coach (you MAWL coaching).
    • You could also train them in Catalytic principles and practices by taking them through this training site.
  • Connect them to a network of KV coaches. This network can become a community of like-minded, like-hearted Key Volunteers with a kingdom perspective.  It provides an environment for mutual learning, accountability and encouragement.  When possible a network like this could gather a few times a year and connects and communicates more often through social media networks.  A few questions for the KV coaches group:  What has God done so far toward reproducing evangelism, discipleship and movement building?   Where are you stuck in these areas?   What two things do you need to do to move toward multiple generations?  How can you pray for each other?
  • Realize challenges that volunteer coaches will face. As Key Volunteers transition to a new level of leadership by becoming a KV coach, they will also encounter new issues, questions and challenges that they may not have faced as Key Volunteers.  Even as an experienced coach you may not have all the answers, but this will be an opportunity for you to learn and grow together.
  • Provide additional resources. You can also point KV coaches to some resources to read to provide deeper understanding of this movement model: (i.e. Giving Up Control, T4T Model Summary).

We don’t want students to be movement builders and launchers just while they’re students, but for a life-time as well.  The final workshop of this training will help you send out life-time laborers into the harvest field.
