EXPLORE & NETWORK FOR NEW MOVEMENTS

Workshop #4: Explore and Network for New Movements: Before You Go!

Before you go, explore and learn all you can to understand the new university to help you surface God’s resources and Potential Key Volunteers through…

1. Concerted prayer: Matthew 9:35-38; Psalm 110:1-3 A new Catalytic staff in India reminds us of a very important lesson: after he had been through Catalytic training he was asked to make his ‘next steps action plan’. The very first thing he put in his plan was prayer and fasting! This is where we begin. We would encourage you, before you go to any new place, to take extended time in prayer and fasting. The prayer that Jesus recommended to us in Matthew 9:35-39 is a good place to start. Begin to pray now that God will raise up Key Volunteers in every university in your scope.

2. Online research: learn as much as possible before you go. Especially in locations where we don’t have contacts, use internet resources to find potential volunteers and believers.     See also: Online Options to Enhance Catalytic  &  How to search for PVKs through Facebook

3. Networking to Identify Potential Key Volunteers: Working from existing relationships, identify potential volunteers and partners (use theBrainstorm PKV’s workshop to help you come up with ideas).

4. Prepare the materials and tools you will need to challenge Key Volunteers and use in meeting with local pastors or church leaders.

What tools need to be developed in order to engage with potential partners?
Here is a list of other possible tools that you may need:

Vision brochure                  KV Challenge
Letter to pastors                 KV Agreement
Four Spiritual Laws            Holy Spirit booklet
Decoding materials            Prayer-walking materials
Doctrinal Statement           Follow up lessons

Preparing well before you launch can help you be more effective when you’re there. Next you’ll make a plan for what you’ll do when you show up on campus.
