HOW TO GO FROM PKVs to KVs
Workshop #3: Components of Training New Key Volunteers in the LAUNCH Phase
Having established an Agreement with your Key Volunteer you may ask, “Now, what do I do with these New Key Volunteers!?” It’s simple, you will want to continue to build your relationship with them and train them in the foundational skills of Win, Build and Send (movement building).
Components of training for launching (that Potential Key Volunteers/Key Volunteers need):
- Coach the team in their next steps (Workshop on Coaching with Essential Path)
- Train and mobilize potential volunteers in prayer, evangelism and basic follow up and discipleship-VOLT-Volunteer Ministry Training (VOLT website)
- Begin to MAWL and teach them how to MAWL ministry skills (Workshop on the MAWL Process)
- Teach them how to cast vision to gather critical mass for a team (Watch Cam’s Vision Casting video here)
- Use the Three-thirds Process to develop leaders (Workshop on Three Thirds process)
Keep the training transferable and focused on simple reproducible action steps and obedience in the areas of prayer, evangelism, basic follow-up and discipleship so that rapid multiplication is not hindered.
(One idea of how to train and coach from a distance would be to have student leaders make videos of them sharing how they cast vision or train Potential Key Volunteers in the above areas.)
A Great Summary Resource for this Section: Launching New Movements
God has provided you with students with a heart and desire to reach their campus, with whom you’ve formed a KV agreement with. It’s time now to start coaching these students to live out the vision God has put on their hearts.
