HOW TO FIND POTENTIAL KEY VOLUNTEERS
Workshop #5: Network and Partner with Local Churches and Believers
As part of networking to find Potential Key Volunteers, it is good to develop trust and possible partner relationships with local churches and Christian leaders, or even with other Christian organizations that share our vision. Some ideas for networking to discover potential partners:
- Meet with pastors and hear their vision and their heart for youth in their city. Look for where God is giving a similar heart and vision. Ask them to connect you with the youth who have a heart for the university.
- Mobilize prayer in the church and cast vision for the ministry by speaking or having student teams speak in churches. (One idea is to offer to present a “Preparing Youth for the University” seminar to youth pastors or to youth groups.)
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with the following key partners and resources:
- churches, pastors, and/or volunteers
- university personnel
- those connected with facilities, finances and other resources
- Christian businesses, and other potential sponsors, and other organizations
(See “Building Relationships with Local Church Leaders” for more insight in partnering with local churches.)
You’ve been at a University and met lots of students to discover who God might have to start and lead a movement there. In the next section you’ll learn how you’ll help students progress from being a PKV to a KV.
