HOW TO FIND POTENTIAL KEY VOLUNTEERS
Workshop #3: Give an Initial Challenge to the Great Commission
It is not always immediately clear if someone truly will become a Key Volunteer. Sometimes students just need time to be exposed to us and to have an opportunity to respond to the challenge of trusting God to work and act on what they are called to do. So how do you proceed in the meantime?
First, after casting vision, give a clear challenge to every believer you meet to join in the Great Commission, such as the KV Challenge, and then give them an opportunity to respond to God’s call to build a movement through obedience, equipping and training. (Here we are following Jesus’ example of offering the invitation to everyone in one of His Kingdom parables found in Matthew 22:1-14)

Challenge everyone…
… in order to find the few who will commit. Ultimately, you will only invest and look to build a movement through those who respond and act in faith by beginning for building a movement on their university (these will eventually become your Key Volunteers).
Using the KV Challenge with students
Take a few minutes to watch this video showing how to challenge a student to be a Key Volunteer. It is important to remember that those who respond positively to the challenge may become Potential Key Volunteers right away, but would only become Key Volunteers by taking the initiative to actively follow through on their vision (through evangelism and helping others become involved in the movement).
Assignment: Answer the following questions:
You’ve challenged a student with the KV Challenge, or in some other way, and they seem to be responding. Learning how to continue to develop and challenge these PKVs, and determine if they will be a future KV is next.
