DISCOVER, UNDERSTAND & EMBRACE SCOPE

Workshop #5: Use Your Map Strategically

Assignment:  Answer the following questions with your map to help you think strategically about scope.

  • What’s it going to take to see movements everywhere? Take a look at your map.  Are there any things that really stand out to you?
  • As you study your “map,” are there any structural or “focus” areas that start to become clear? (Look for clusters and geographical considerations.)
  • What are possible ways you could focus Catalytic staff or teams?  What are possible ways you could structure yourselves as a team to reach the scope?
  • Where would be a strategic Catalytic team location, now and in the future?
  • Minimally, what’s it going to take to sponsor and develop students and movements? What is sustainable? What is desirable?
  • How can you get a visual picture you can come back to and use to measure our progress with? (Google maps online are a good alternative.)

Note: As you look at your map, remember that this is God’s work and He is the one responsible for carrying it out. Allow your scope to motivate and challenge you to think differently as you trust God for more.

Your scope map can help you have a vision and think strategically about reaching your whole scope, but it can also help you as you think about specific locations.
