The Acts 14:22 Project – First Steps

I am beginning a new adventure in my life, a new leg of my journey with Jesus into the Great Commission. I am assisting Catalytic teams as they trust God to move forward in helping every student in Eastern Europe and Russia know someone who is truly walking with God.  This isn’t so easy in this area where there are few Christians and few who are interested in knowing about the grace and mercy that Jesus died to give them.  But God is at work and He is not limited by the limitations of our cultures here!  I hope to use this blog to help to strengthen and encourage you by sharing a few of the things that He is doing among our teams.

My new role is to act as a ‘visiting consultant’ – being a part of a team for several weeks at a time, observing and coaching on-site.  I’m currently with the team in Kharkov, Ukraine, being greatly encouraged at what I am seeing here.  (More about this in later blogs!)

I’m a little hesitant and anxious about this new step because I fear that I won’t be adequate for what He has in store for me.  I told a friend the other day that this is good, this fear of being inadequate – because it is the truth.  I am NOT adequate and so I must be faithful to find my adequacy in Jesus.

I’ve decided that this blog will be a journal of sorts – sharing thoughts, ideas, stories, emotions, and (this makes me laugh) wisdom – by wisdom I mean the “sharing lessons I have gleaned from failures that I want to pass onto others to help them learn from my mistakes and perhaps to help others feel comfortable with failures” kind of wisdom.

Here’s the first installment of the ‘Imparting Wisdom’ section:

The only failure in failure is failing to learn from failure!

God may be calling you to journey with Him in a new stage of ministry.  Perhaps your journey will be similar to mine.  Let’s join together along the way and maybe we can help each other grow in our understanding of coaching teams who coach other teams.  I would love for this to be a platform where we can share insights, fears, apprehensions, joys, triumphs … and perhaps impart some wisdom to one another in an atmosphere of encouraging and strengthening one other in Jesus.
