I have been to 3 Catalytic teams so far in my new journey, all in Ukraine: Kharkov, Nikolaev and the LINC team based in Kiev. I am so thrilled and inspired by the vision I’ve seen on these teams for moving forward and discipling the nations (Mt.28:19) from their cities!
Many of you may already be aware of the 40:40 vision that the catalytic metro team in Kharkov is pursuing: they are asking God for KV teams on 40 campuses in Kharkov by 2021 – that’s the first ‘40’. And God has already blessed them with 4 KV teams and about 40 KVs in the city in just 1 ½ years!!
But the team couldn’t stop there as they had researched their scope well. They discovered that there are 20,000 international students from 200 countries in Kharkov – more international students there than in all the rest of Ukraine. So the team is very courageously and very boldly trusting God for a second ‘40’: they are asking God to use them to send trained students from Kharkov back to 40 countries of the world! A very daunting goal, but they know they follow a God Who, by the power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]!! (Eph.3:20 Amplified Bible).
The team’s faith goal for this semester was to have 5 international KVs – they already had 4 before November even started! God seems to be eager to answer their prayers and bless their faith ‘beyond their highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams’! I can’t wait to hear their accounts of what God continues to do!!
I was also so heartened to hear stories from Nikolaev as Zhenya and Lilia, interns there, who, along with their team of KVs, are trusting God to reach the Chinese students in Nikolaev as they also ask God to give them KVs on every campus in their city.
Reading the prayer letters of the Russia national Catalytic team has made me super excited about how God has raised up a new KV team in the southern part of Russia. The KVs there are not only asking Him for spiritual movements among students in their city, they are also reaching out to students from the Middle East and Africa who are studying there. God is granting them great favor with these students!
We are here, ultimately to glorify God as we are His instruments to use as He sees fit to bring the gospel to all the ends of the earth. We are trusting Him to raise up students from among our movements to go to the world, but the Kharkov team, the Nikolaev team and the KV team in southern Russia are great examples of reaching and discipling the nations among us. I can hardly wait to hear more stories from all of you about how God is reaching the nations through you and your KV teams!!
